A Sweet Day with My Girl

I planned a mommy-daughter date with Aubrey that was nothing short of amazing. We took a scenic car ride to New Hope, Pennsylvania, where we spent a beautiful afternoon making memories together.

A Scenic Ride on the New Hope Railroad

The first thing we did was enjoy a stunning train ride through New Hope on the New Hope Railroad. They offer a variety of themed train rides throughout the year—fall foliage, Christmas, or simply a relaxing ride to enjoy with a loved one.

One very important tip if you plan to book a ride: arrive at least 20 minutes early. I arrived right on time and almost missed the train! There is parking directly next to the train tracks, which is paid parking—I paid $40. If you’re hoping to find free street parking, I recommend arriving even earlier than 20 minutes.

There’s a nice wooden ramp and a set of steps that lead directly to the train deck. Depending on the season or holiday, the deck is beautifully decorated and makes the perfect backdrop for photos. They also have a cute little shoppette where you can buy souvenirs and other adorable knickknacks.

The train ride itself lasted about an hour, and during the ride, the conductor shared fun historical facts about the locations we passed along the route, which made the experience even more special.

Exploring the Charm of New Hope

After the train ride, we walked around the charming borough of New Hope. The town is small and quaint, but it’s full of little treasures. We passed a candle-making shop a few blocks from the train station on our way to lunch at a whimsical café called Vanilla Café.

Lunch at Vanilla Café: A Fairytale Experience

Aubrey and I absolutely loved our time at Vanilla Café. From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a fairytale. Aubrey was completely obsessed with the glass dessert display—she kept getting up from our table just to admire it.

The desserts looked like something straight out of those TikTok videos where pastries are made to resemble real fruit. They had a crunchy white chocolate exterior, vibrant colors, and a soft, decadent center. As beautiful as they were, they were just as delicious.

The food was great, too. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and a latte, while Aubrey enjoyed a personal-sized cheese pizza with hot chocolate. One of my favorite details was that everything was served on beautiful china plates and glasses—it made the experience feel extra special.

They also had a dedicated wall for cute selfies, and of course, Aubrey and I took full advantage of it.

A Peaceful Walk by the River

After lunch, we took the scenic route back to the car. There’s a trail that runs alongside the river, and we used it to walk off our meal. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect—the sun was beginning to set, and the way it hit the water and the trail was absolutely beautiful.

A Day to Remember

Overall, it was the perfect mommy-daughter date. It went so well that Aubrey was already planning our next visit before we even left. Moments like these remind me just how special uninterrupted time together truly is.
