Turning 31 (and Loving the Slow Pace)

This year I turned the big 3-1! Woooooo!! 🎉

Last year for the big 30, I celebrated in St. Maarten with Aubrey and my husband, and we truly had the time of our lives. It was a huge celebration filled with sunshine, travel, and unforgettable memories.

But this year? I had zero desire to do anything extreme. I wanted something slower, calmer, and honestly… a little more peaceful.

And that’s exactly what I got.

The Best Kind of Birthday Morning

I started my birthday in the most luxurious way possible — sleeping in.

I woke up naturally around 10:30–11 AM, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed with no alarm clock in sight. Honestly, that alone felt like a birthday gift.

The night before, I gave myself a full at-home facial moment. I dermaplaned my face, followed up with The Ordinary charcoal mask, and used my high frequency wand to help zap away bacteria and keep my skin clear. I even waxed my brows so they would be nice and crisp for the big day.

Let’s just say when I woke up, my skin and brows were looking delicious.

After my uninterrupted slumber, I headed downstairs to join the family and was greeted with so much birthday love I could have popped.

A Relaxed Birthday Afternoon

The morning and early afternoon were super relaxed. I didn’t do too much because I knew I needed a solid two hours to get ready for our dinner reservation later that evening.

Before starting the glam process, I spent some cozy time watching a movie with Aubrey and Charles, which honestly set the tone for the whole day. It was calm, peaceful, and exactly what I needed.

Our dinner reservation was at Capone’s Chop House, which is about two hours from us, so we had to leave the house by 4 PM to make it on time.

Birthday Dinner at Capone’s Chop House

Dinner was just the two of us, and it was really nice to have that quiet time together.

Sometimes birthdays don’t have to be huge productions. This one felt simple but meaningful — good food, good company, and no rushing around.

By the time we finished dinner and made the drive back home, it was around 11 PM.

And honestly? It was perfect.

The Perfect Kind of Birthday

I know this birthday doesn’t sound like anything over the top, but it was exactly what my heart needed.

Life has been busy and hectic lately, so having a day that felt slow, peaceful, and full of love was truly a birthday sent from heaven.

Nothing was rushed.
Nothing was forced.
The entire day just flowed beautifully.

And that, to me, was the perfect dose of celebration. This year instead of focusing on an entire itinerary for my bday, I just wanted to be present and focus on everything I already have.

Stay tuned because next Friday I’ll be sharing our full dining experience at Capone’s Chop House. Trust me… you’re going to want the details. 🍽️✨
