Romanticize Your Discipline: Finding Joy in a Busy Season of Life
This has been on my mind daily since school started for me and my kiddos, all while working full-time, managing a household, and everything else in between. The list goes on, but to be honest, it has become a bit easier because I am genuinely excited about everything happening in my life.
I love being a student! All of my professors have been amazing, and I’ve really enjoyed building connections with them and my classmates. My daughter is loving her experience at her new school. We are both still getting adjusted to waking up so early in the morning, but like I said, we are getting up to do things we’re excited about every day.
Another thing that has been helping me is that I don’t try to do absolutely everything in one day like I used to. I would get so stressed trying to fit it all in.
I had to take a few weeks off from blogging, which made me a bit sad. However, I wanted to be present and enjoy the end of our summer before life got hectic. I also wanted to give myself time to see how our days would flow with all of these new things on my plate.
I am happy to report that even though there is a tornado of things going on, I STILL WANT TO BLOG! It is my happy place. I may not be able to do as much as I used to, but I can still keep my blog updated at least once a week.
Romanticizing the outcome I see for my near future makes it easier to romanticize the discipline it takes to get there.
There is something beautiful about realizing that the busy days, early mornings, long nights, and sacrifices are all part of building a life you’re excited about. Discipline doesn’t always have to feel like punishment. Sometimes, it can simply look like showing up for the life you prayed for, dreamed about, and are still creating.
Keep going. You got this, mama! 🤎
